Nealy Atkins
I am a stay-at-home mom, potter, volunteer, and lover of nature. I moved from Birmingham, Alabama to the heart of Cajun country in 2010. Living amongst the rich diversity of the area provides a bounty of creative stimuli. I find much solace in the hours spent in the studio & am very grateful for the opportunity share my passion with others.
My desire is to merge clean and sturdy forms with subtle decoration so that each piece can enrich the owner’s living space. I use Louisiana clay to produce functional, original, stoneware pottery. The pottery wheel is where the majority of of my work is created. Each vessel is then trimmed and accented with hand built elements & glazed designs.
