Gene Guidry
Gene is a retired drilling engineer who now has time to pursue his passion for painting, graphite/charcoal drawing and more recently collages in wood with oil accents. Gene has one year of formal education in Arts as an Architecture student at USL that included several classes in drawing and painting.
Primarily self taught, Gene has been drawing and painting most of his life but has really been able to increase his art devotion in recent years producing almost 150 pieces since 2016.
He produces pieces primarily showcasing landscape scenes with a bit of emphasis on his roots in South Louisiana.
He is a member of Lafayette Art Association, LaCadian Art Guild of New Iberia and was a Bare Walls member for a one year period.
His works have been displayed in numerous places around New Iberia, Henderson and Lafayette and a number of them have won awards in some of the competitive art shows.
