Josey’s Goods, LLC was founded in August of 2017. Gene and Lisa Josey are the owners. We are inspired by Lisa’s upbringing in the Cajun Culture of Acadiana. We share our love of food and Cajun culture through our company. We produce farm to market jams, jellies, and preserves. We support local farmers and gardeners. One goal is to teach the importance of supporting our local farmers and to show the quality of food they provide. It is very special to hear someone say, “It tastes just like mom’s or grandmother’s.” We do not add artificial colors or flavors in our products. Gene and I grew up growing, producing, and consuming homemade canned goods. It is an extension of ourselves. Essential NOLA

Essentially NOLA was first launched when my son was born and had very dry skin. He was prone to rashes and breakouts, especially around the diaper area. A doctor prescribed him some creme to help. When I went to my local pharmacy to have it filled, I was told the copay was $85… I almost had a heart attack.

That’s when I began researching essential oils, botanicals and natural cures. The first product I made was a natural diaper cream for my son.. and it was amazing. It was natural, affordable and it worked!!

Since that first cream in 2015, Essentially NOLA has evolved. I realized that what is good for inside your body is also good for what goes on it. Chock full of locally grown fruits, vegetables, milks and more , like Grass Fed Tallow, Local Raw Honey , Fresh Goat Milk , Vine Ripe Tomatoes, Sun Kissed Satsumas & Local Craft Beer we strive to use Natural Ingredients to create a Naturally Beautiful You.

What began as a one-man operation in 1992 has slowly grown into a small but dedicated team of a dozen employees who are familiar with our skins and customers. Following a three-year stint in Papua New Guinea working as the Technical Manager and later as General Manager of the world’s largest commercial crocodile farm, Mark Staton and his family returned to Louisiana and settled in Lafayette, which is strategically located in the heart of the state’s alligator-rich marshlands and bayou country. Because of our association with farmers, trappers and skin dealers in Louisiana and beyond, we are fortunate to have a supply of the worlds most valuable reptile skins. These high-quality skins are sent to the best reptile tanneries in the United States to produce some of the finest exotic leather available. We pride ourselves in our customer service and industry knowledge.

Mark Staton Co. considers alligator and the products made from their leather to be one of this area’s most valuable natural resources. We are dedicated to the preservation and utilization of the resource in a responsible way. “From the Swamp to the Showroom” is an expression we use here which means that we are involved with every aspect of this trade.
