Craig Rabalais
Wood, Mixed Media

Baton Rouge, LA

I’ve always enjoyed nature and being outdoors.  Wood is my primary medium for developing the shapes and materials found in nature.  The majority of my creations contain wood in its natural color while some contain a use of other media which was spawned from the knowledge I gained throughout my career.   While many of my pieces are functional art, I often allow the wood time to provide the outcome.

Born in New Orleans and raised in Slidell, this Louisiana native now resides in Baton Rouge where he attended college and expanded his career.  A graduate of Louisiana State University, Craig obtained a degree in Construction Management with a minor in Architecture.  As a professional Project Manager and certified Floodplain Manager, Craig had the opportunity to work with many artistic people across various different medium.  The primary use of wood allows Craig to not only shape his art but also inject vibrant and contrasting colors throughout.  Every item he produces allows the natural color and character of the wood to stand out.  Many items are made with wood either found in the forest or personally milled, exotic woods; shed antlers, crushed stone, precious stones and sometimes acrylics.

My entire life I have been attracted to unique shapes/designs and to the arts.  Now retired, I enjoy spending most of my time with my lifelong friend and wife of forty-three years along with searching for unique woods and expressing my creativity.  My work is marketed under the name ‘Made by TOF’ and can be found at
